Couples who are going through the dissolution of their marriage are forced to face one of the most difficult times in their lives and often without any outside professional help and counseling. We recognize that people going through divorce experience sadness, self-blame, anxiety, shame, guilt, rage and a variety of other painful feelings that at times feel overwhelming. Our goal is not to help clients simply suppress or distract themselves from their pain, but to help them work through these feelings so they can feel fulfilled and satisfied in their new lives.
We understand the effects of divorce on children and their unique needs as they go through this difficult ordeal. While working through the conflicts within the family we also work individually with the children. Helping them to understand the situation a bit deeper and accept it as a better outcome for all parties involved. We also work on helping them develop goals that foster resilience and a healthy self-esteem.
